What's Coming Out Of Sundance?
So I put together a list of the movies from Sundance I’m personally most excited about and a few that have got the hype-machine rolling. All of these movies have been purchased and should be out soonish. I tried to find trailers or clips for everything but I couldn’t track down a few so look for this post to be updated with added trailers, and more films for that matter. 1. Smart...

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

A Rant - Oregon Sports
I usually try to refrain from discussing college sports too much, it usually just leads to mindless endless debates with ridiculous stats spewing from said debaters (I am king of filing away percentages and such for this purpose). That said, this basketball team is just frustrating to watch. How can a team so talented be so bad? Glad you asked. The talent is there, the experience is there but...

My personal Fav: These are awesome! I’ve been using them for inspiration lately.
Very often, people confuse simple with simplistic. The nuance is lost on most.

This is a really awesome site for “indie” music reviews and news but they also review music from other categories. A very hilarious review can be found here. I guess if a picture is worth a thousand words then a video must be worth like 10,000.
75 Tips to Keep Your Car in Top-Notch Condition →
I like the part in the “Be patient during the break-in period” section where they say to keep your speed under 55mph for the first 1,000 miles. All I’m saying is if I’m driving off the lot of a Porsche dealership the first thing I’m doing is a little “performance test.”

Paranoid Park Trailer →
This movie was filmed in Portland by Good Will Hunting director and P-town resident Gus Van Sant. Looks pretty good, especially considering he seems to be out of his crap movie phase i.e. 2003 Palm d’Or winner Elephant (also filmed in Portland).
Home-Court Advantage: The Sweet 16 →
My Ducks’ McArthur Court is #7 on this list of the best college hoops venues, but jeez that picture of the “Cameron Crazies” is intense.
Thanks to Mr. Ben Stern (of Princeton education and Jewish descent) for this little number…one of the funniest videos I’ve seen in some time.

One take on how to make great coffee →
Some of this stuff seems good, some common sense, and some a little pompous. To me coffee and wine are taken a little too seriously. Sometimes you want something crafted from an “artisan” and sometimes you want a 40oz. 7-11 coffee or some Carlo. It all has its place.

Most Valuable College Sports Teams
In Forbes they came up with some formula to determine the most valuable NCAA basketball and football teams. The lists are full of the usual suspects (North Carolina, Duke, etc… for basketball and the SEC schools for football) but there are some surprises. Make sure to click on “In Pictures” on the left of the pages. Basketball is here and football is here.

If you haven’t heard of it, this is a really cool site for travelers. The homepage is poorly designed but go into “Destinations” on the sidebar and mess around with the map - really fun to just see some quick stuff about every country imaginable.
Juno
I finally saw Juno last night. It was pretty funny and over all really good. I’d give it an A. The opening credits are pretty cool. They’re done by a company called Shadowplay, who does a lot of commercials and credits and such. One thing they’ve done that you might remember is the opening credit sequence from Thank You For Smoking. Link to the Juno credits here and the homepage here.
